U House – Batu Jimbar, Sanur Bali 2007 This proposal was for an inexpensive house in a private enclave of Bali, where the clients expected to phase the building of the house over a period of time.  The site is surrounded by heavy planting.  We proposed a simple long house under a shingle roof, running the entire length of the land.  The building would be interrupted and displaced in sections, creating accidental spaces which were to be either open, shaded or enclosed, taking on functions of a reception canopy, pond, dining deck and more.  Pools and guest areas were to be added in time.
